Thankful Thursday #19 – March

March has been a whirlwind, I can’t believe the month is almost over! Thankfully it’s been busy with lots of fun and exciting things. Here’s some of the things I’m thankful for this month!

  1. The first weekend in March, I attended my first LymeLight Foundation fundraising event, Dart for Art. It was more fun than I expected! Besides getting to meet the people behind this great organization, everyone attending brings home a piece of art. My husband and I were lucky enough to get our 3rd choice when it was our turn to “dart.” I’m happy with our piece since photography is one of my favorite forms of art. LymeLight Foundation has awarded 256 treatment grants, totaling $956,500 since 2011. Isn’t that awesome?!?

  2. I’m so thankful that five months since my treatment at Infusio, I am still feeling great and have not had one Lyme symptom. I’m starting a new series called Infusio Interviews, you can read more about it here.
  3. We had a swarm of bees take up residence in a redwood tree for about an hour. It was very cool to see the bees create a “mini-hive” on a tree branch.
  4. I took some great photos of my bees collecting pollen from on of my camellia bushes.P1060058
  5. Our plum, pear, and peach trees started to bloom.
  6. I took the “Take A Bite Out Of Lyme Challenge“, you can watch my video here. I’m thankful for the volunteers who’ve organized the challenge to help bring more awareness about Lyme disease.
  7. I spent a week in Houston visiting a good friend. I had a super fun time hanging out with her one and three year old boys!
  8. Speaking of Houston, I used to be an extremely nervous flier, so it’s a testament to God’s amazingness in helping me overcome my fear that I did just fine on a very bumpy 3 hour flight home! I wore this “good luck charm” Trevor gave me while we were dating….which was the last time I flew somewhere alone!FullSizeRender
  9. And last, but certainly not least, I’m thankful I get to spend the last week of the month with my Mom and Aunt who are visiting me here in California. I’m so excited to spend quality time with both of them. We will also spend some time exploring Yosemite! Here’s a picture of me and my Mom from 1976 🙂

Thankful Thursday #18 – February

Hey, hey, it’s the last Thursday of the month, so that means its time for my Thankful Thursday post! Here are the ten things I was thankful for this month!

  1. Happy for the rainy weekend we had the first weekend of this month!
  2. Thankful for the 80 degree weather we had the following weekend! It was warm enough to enjoy dinner outside at the Crow’s Nest and see this beautiful sunset.

  3. Helping my sister-in-law launch her fundraising site for Lyme treatment. Check it out at http://www.mgoesbananas.wordpress.com. I’d be grateful if you donated or shared her page!
  4. Booking tickets for my mom and aunt to visit me and my sister next month, very excited to see them!
  5. Harvesting some of my winter carrots!

    Tasty winter carrots!

  6. Passing the four-month mark since my treatment and Infusio, and I’m still feeling good!  I’ll share my four-month update next week.
  7. Having my husband put down gravel to help with erosion and create a path behind our house. That was my Valentine’s Day gift, and it was perfect since my love language is acts of service!
  8. Picking lots of Meyer lemons from our tree. I made several batches of lemon bars with them!IMG_5898
  9. Trying a new restaurant that opened five minutes from out house! We enjoyed this extremely yummy pretzel; it was the best we’ve had outside of Germany! They had great main courses too.

    YUM!

  10. Finally decorating the empty walls in our hallway! It’s been 2 1/2 years since we moved in and our walls are bare! Here’s a picture of our “travelcollage.”

No more empty hallway wall…..at least on one side!

Thankful Thursday #17 – January

The new year has started off pretty darn good! Enjoy the eleven things I was thankful for this month!

  1. Continuing to feel good after my treatment for late stage Lyme disease at Infusio. I’ve passed the 90 day mark! I’ll be sharing my 90 day update next week.
  2. Celebrating my friend, Candy’s grand opening of her all organic, boba tea cafe, Tea Lyfe Drinks. If you live near San Jose, CA it’s worth the drive to sample her original creations. I make the 30 minute drive from my house, it’s that good!

The ultimate “Mom-preneur”, Candy, I think she will be one of Forbes 30 under 30! She opened this cafe in 5 months, while being a great wife, and awesome mom to her cute baby boy!

  3. Nothing broke during a 4.4 magnitude earthquake! I still get shaken up, even when they are small  quakes!
  4. The wonderful conversations I’ve had with people about Infuiso. They’ve been a blessing to me!
  5. After not buying clothes or shoes for myself for almost a year, scoring a pair of cute Converse for $20! IMG_5784
  6. Getting accepted into the Nutrition Consultant program at Bauman College!
  7. Having fun with my husband as we rediscovered how fun it is to paint at Petroglyph. Here’s a cute garden gecko girl he painted. IMG_5783
  8. Having my Lyme story shared on LEAF’s Facebook page, and the nice emails Lizzie sent me! If you’d like to share your Lyme story contact Lizzie via her Facebook page.
  9. Realizing the bees in Verbena colony left their hive instead of dying off. I’m glad they are still living somewhere!
  10. The amazingly warm weather we’ve been having! I am hopeful the rain will return in February!IMG_5830
  11. My husband’s birthday on January 30th, and he has the day off to celebrate!
