During this appointment, my doctor and I decided it was a good time to stop the A-L Complex because I’d been feeling really good since July. He recommended another herbal remedy for 30 days. Once I finished that herbal remedy we’d try to see if my body was ready to handle things “on it’s own.”
Four days after this appointment, I was laid off from my job of 11 years. Just like that, 40% of our income disappeared and we had just spent a HUGE amount of money treating my Lyme for the past year and a half.
I had gotten little hints from my boss in the form of comments like “I didn’t expect this to go on for this long” that he wasn’t very happy that I was opposed to increasing my hours to 40 hours a week. I felt it was important to continue a modified 32 hour a week work schedule while I was undergoing Lyme treatments and then wanted to wait and see how I felt 90 days after completing treatment to make sure I could stay stable before adding in additional work hours.
The layoff was a blessing in disguise, because I had no idea what’d I’d be up against when I had relapse that began to rear it’s ugly head in October.
