Infuiso – Day Four and Five

Wow, I’ve completed a week of treatments, it’s gone by fast! So far I’m still feeling pretty good.

I’ve had a mild rash breakout on most of my face and neck. Thankfully the bumps are really tiny, and not very red or itchy. I’ve had this type of rash on and off in the past, but it’s been at least a year since it last appeared. I’ve also been more tired than usual since the stem cell blood draw. I’m not sure if it’s related to the treatments, or because lack of sleep.

Infusio – Day Three – Stem Cell “Field Trip”

This was by far the most “exciting” day I’ve had since I started treatments. Wednesday was stem cell “field trip” day. Our pick up time was 5:45 am, and it reminded me of mystery movie.

We walked out of our apartment into the cool, moist air expecting a taxi to pick us up. Instead, there was no taxi and it was eerily quiet. A couple of minutes passed and an older man walked up to us and asked “Bad Harzburg?”

We just stood there while he repeated it a couple of times cause we were super tired and had no idea what he was saying! Finally, we said “English?” and he said “Jennifer?” and we said “Yes!” He spoke to us again in German, saying “Bad Harzburg” and “shuttle” so we decided it was probably safe to get into the van with him!

Thankful Thursday #5 – Adventures

Today I’m thankful for adventures in life! This last-minute trip to Germany for treatment a Infusio has been one of the biggest adventures of my life.

Tomorrow marks one week since our arrival in Frankfurt, and it’s been a very unique, and exciting experience. I’ve done things I never imagined like visit Germany, eat Grie Soß, have multiple IV infusions in one day, and get almost a half pint of blood drawn at a stem cell clinic (more about that experience in tomorrow’s post!).

I’ve been feeling pretty good since we arrived, so we decided to adventure to Paris this weekend to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary a few days early!

Another thing I’m thankful for today is the opportunity to have treatment at Infusio. I hope sharing my experience with whoever is willing to read my blog, finds it helpful, and it encourages you to be adventurous too!

How about you? What are some of life adventures that you’re thankful for? Share them with me in the comments.
