Hello Frankfurt

The Lufthansa flight map

After 16 hours of travel, we safely arrived in Frankfurt. I saved money on our flight by using miles from San Francisco to New York but it made for a very long day! Thankfully, we have a direct fight home.

This was my first time flying with Lufthansa, and it was a really great experience. The plane was 747-800, it was ginormous, and super nice! We had free movies, food, and they even offered a glass champagne to everyone shortly after take off. They handed out warm wet napkins prior to serving food, and their airplane food was decent. If you ever find yourself traveling to Germany, try Lufthansa!

Getting through customs at the airport took only about five minutes and we easily found the driver from Infusio. I had no idea where we were staying since the apartments at Infusio were already booked. Thankfully, the apartment at the Couva Boarding House is in nice area of Frankfurt know as Nordend. There is a small grocery store across the street, and a variety of restaurants and cafes within a block. There is also a nice children’s playground near the entrance to Couva, complete with a merry-go-round and ping-pong table. Here’s some picture of the apartment. Continue reading

Why Infusio?

**Update 4/16/2015** It was recently brought to my attention that my blog may not have been clear with regard to who was in charge of my care while at Infusio.

Michael Wittstadt is a Naturopathic doctor and has worked for more than 10 years in the field of integrative medicine. In Germany, Naturopathic doctors receive five years of schooling. The director of the stem cell clinic, Katrin Pesic, is a MD and spent time working in the U.S. at John’s Hopkins.

For me, this was a not an issue since I purposely chose to work with a Naturopathic Doctor for my Lyme treatments. While in school I recently learned this interesting fact:

Naturopathic Medicine flourished from ancient times until the 1930’s, when the American Medical Association successfully suppressed it, both legally & economically. Medical science then predominated, backed financially by the large medical, pharmaceutical, and insurance companies.

So technically, Naturopathic Medicine is the “original” way medicine was practiced!

Okay back to the original post 🙂

Why am I going to Infusio? Because ever since I found out I had Lyme disease I’ve wanted to kick this little, spiral shaped bacteria’s, “boo-tay” and I think Infusio can help accomplish that goal!

This was one of the quickest “big” decisions my husband, and I have ever made. Everything easily fell into place, which is awesome considering we are traveling overseas, at the last-minute. A similar thing happened a couple of years ago when we bought our house, it was unexpected, happened fast, but was a smooth, easy transition, and it’s been a blessing! It’s amazing how quickly God opens doors sometimes!

I still can’t believe we decided so quickly!

After my appointment, my husband was ready to pack our bags. I’m a major planner, and last-minute decisions can be stressful for me. I’ve been trying to remind myself that I don’t need to plan everything! I recently saw this Mandy Hale quote and it spoke to me.

“You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.”

What’s Infusio?

**Update 4/16/2015** It was recently brought to my attention that my blog may not have been clear with regard to who was in charge of my care while at Infusio. My care was provided by Michael Wittstadt, who is the equivalent to and ND here in the US.

About two months ago, in the middle of a challenging Lyme treatment week, my husband mentioned to an acquaintance I’d been battling late stage Lyme disease. This acquaintance happened to know someone who’s late state Lyme disease was in remission. He said she’d tried numerous treatments and he graciously offered to ask what finally worked for her.

I say “happened” because I do not believe this conversation was a chance encounter, I believe it was God’s perfect timing. A few weeks later my husband received a very informative email, and I learned of a new treatment using stem cells. My most recent Lyme “roller coaster”, along with encouragement from my husband prompted me to research stem cell therapy, and other treatment options.

When I found out nasty Lyme, and co-infections were causing my random, intermittent health issues, I was determined to fully eradicate them. I never once believed they would affect me the rest of my life! I STILL believe that to be TRUE, however, after 2 1/2 years of treatment, and lots of prayers for healing, I’ve realized my body may need more intensive therapies to fully heal.

During my August appointment my doctor recommended a clinic called Infusio. He’d met with the founder and thought what they did sounded promising. Infuiso’s stem cell therapy uses your own stem cells, and that made me more comfortable with considering their clinic.

I’ve tried to avoid more intensive therapies, because they usually involve IV treatments, and those make me super nervous! God has been working on my “irrational fear issue” over the years, so I mustered the courage, and made an appointment with the founder Infusio.
