Thankful Thursday #5 – Adventures

Today I’m thankful for adventures in life! This last-minute trip to Germany for treatment a Infusio has been one of the biggest adventures of my life.

Tomorrow marks one week since our arrival in Frankfurt, and it’s been a very unique, and exciting experience. I’ve done things I never imagined like visit Germany, eat Grie Soß, have multiple IV infusions in one day, and get almost a half pint of blood drawn at a stem cell clinic (more about that experience in tomorrow’s post!).

I’ve been feeling pretty good since we arrived, so we decided to adventure to Paris this weekend to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary a few days early!

Another thing I’m thankful for today is the opportunity to have treatment at Infusio. I hope sharing my experience with whoever is willing to read my blog, finds it helpful, and it encourages you to be adventurous too!

How about you? What are some of life adventures that you’re thankful for? Share them with me in the comments.

Thankful Thursday #4 – Detour to Germany

Three weeks ago, I thought I’d be on a plane to Maui, instead I’m taking a detour to Germany for Lyme disease treatment at Infusio. There are so many things to be thankful for today!

First, I’m thankful to God for making it possible for me to have treatment at Infusio. He provided the finances, time, and ability for me to do this.

I’m typing this as we fly to JFK to catch our flight to Frankfurt. I’m thankful for technology that allows me to do that!

I’m thankful for my wonderful family, and friends. Their prayers and supportive words are so helpful! I had a moment or two of doubt as we were getting ready to leave this morning, and your texts, emails, comments, etc. have been reassuring! Thank you again!

I’m also thankful to people I’ve never met that have offered their kind words and advice via my blog, the California Lyme Yahoo Support Group, and to those who’ve received treatment at Infusio sharing their experience with me. It’s so nice to know I’m not alone in the journey to defeat Lyme!

I’m thankful for the hardworking airport employees, pilots, and flight attendants that every day make sure millions of people around the world get to their destinations safely. It is truly amazing!

Finally, I overwhelmed with gratitude for my wonderful husband who has supported me 1000% throughout this long, winding, Lyme journey. I would not be able to do this without him. The sacrifices he has made during these last several years have not be easy, and I’m so thankful he has not left my side!

Thankful Thursday #2 – Home, Food, and Fun!

Today’s thankful Thursday is about home, food, and fun!

I’m thankful our home has lots of outdoor space where I can enjoy breathing fresh air every day.

I’m thankful I felt good enough in the beginning of summer to host a fun event! I’ve been wanting to share pictures from this event all summer and I think this fits well as a thankful Thursday post!

Since moving into our home two years ago we decided it’d be fun to host a party for my husband’s co-worker’s, and thankfully we were able to host the second one this summer. I love this party because I’m able to meet all the great people he works with, plus their significant others, and adorable kids!

I have to admit another reason this “wanna be” foodie is thankful for this party, is the food! My husband works with a diverse group, and the food they bring to share is awesome! The first time we hosted I didn’t take pictures, so this time I decided it’d be fun to take pictures of each guest with their food, and share them with you. Enjoy, and try not to drool 🙂
