This was my first “official” Lyme treatment plan. I don’t remember feeling too bad on this plan.
What I do distinctively remember is picking up the antibiotics at the pharmacy and having the pharmacist request a consultation to ask me why I was taking so many antibiotics for such a long period of time.
The pharmacists concern also freaked me out a little, so I remember calling my doctor and asking more questions about antibiotic resistant bacteria and the negative impact they would have on my digestive system. I even asked him to remind me why I had to take all these antibiotics!
I remember being really overwhelmed about EVERYTHING, especially since two weeks after starting this plan my husband and I took a vacation outside the country that we had scheduled several months prior to my Lyme diagnosis. This was my first trip ever having to travel with medication. Looking at this plan as I type it now (2015) it seems so easy compared to what was to come!
